My Due Date

Yesterday was my due date! And to think Mommy and Daddy were worried that I would be a leap year baby. . . I showed them! I got to hang out with Mommy all day and Daddy came home from work a little early.

Mommy and Daddy both think that I am acting a lot more like a newborn. I stay awake longer and like to make faces at them. I was practicing giving Daddy my “angry eyes” the other day! Yesterday when Daddy was holding me, I laughed for the first time. Mommy and Daddy have no idea what I was laughing at. . . and I’m not going to tell them!

I can’t wait for spring, because Mommy and Daddy both promised to take me outside for walks. Apparently I’m going to get lots of exercise!

Two Months Old

I am two months old today! To celebrate, Mommy took me to see Dr. Beaty. I weighed in at 8 lbs 12 ozs and was 20 1/4 inches long. I just keep growing and growing! I also had to get three shots today. I bet the whole office heard me scream!

The good news is, I don’t have to go back for another two months!

Great Grandpa and Grandma’s

Mommy took me to visit Great Grandpa and Great Grandma. They hadn’t seen me since I was in the hospital. I had fun with them. They spoiled me! Great Grandma baked me a pie but I let Mommy and Daddy eat it for me.

My First Owie!

I got an owie yesterday. Mommy was clipping my fingernails. She got my thumb! I screamed but then Mommy kissed it and it was all better. She feels really bad. But it’s ok. I’m a tough little guy.

Growing Bigger

I’m getting bigger every day. I’m approaching the 8 lbs mark. I now have a lot of cute preemie clothes that I can’t wear anymore. Mommy had to break out the newborn size clothes! We have some cute ones of those too, so all is well. And that means I am closer to being able to wear my St. Louis Cardinals outfits. . . after all spring training has started and the season is right around the corner.

Shopping & Grandparents

Yesterday Mommy and Daddy took me out to the store. It was my first time shopping. We went to Target. I was real impressed since I slept the whole time. Mommy and Daddy were happy that I didn’t cry once and that my monitor didn’t go off! They had to buy me a few things like onesies and more bottles, plus Daddy needed batteries for his camera since he has been taking so many pictures of me.

Later in the afternoon, Grandma Mathewson came to visit. I like when she comes over because she holds me the whole time. She brought supper for Mommy and Daddy too.

Then Grandma and Grandpa Robertson came over. Grandma helped Mommy make thank-you cards and Grandpa helped Daddy fix the refrigerator. (Actually Grandpa did all the work and Daddy watched. . . silly him!) They got to hold me too.

It was a good day. I got to see all my grandparents in the same day.

My Friend Mason

Last night my friend Mason came over to play. Mason was born on January 17th. Although I’m older, Mason is bigger.

Mason’s Mommy and Daddy are friends with my Mommy and Daddy. They came over and they ate pizza while Mason and I had our normal dinners. . . milk!

Our Mommies and Daddies laid us down on the floor together to play. I didn’t play too nice. I cried most of the time. But I still like Mason and I’m sure we’ll get to play some other time.

A Day Out

Yesterday was a busy day.

Daddy got up early and helped me make a Valentine’s Day card for Mommy. He traced my hand and then helped me write my name on the card. I think Mommy liked it.

Then I went to see Daddy at work. I met all his coworkers. They thought I was pretty cute. Daddy showed me his office and tried to make me do some work! No way! I’m too little.

After that, I went and visited Grandma Robertson at her work while Mommy went to the store to get some groceries.

Then Mommy took me to see Dr. Beaty again. We’re becoming good friends. He said I was still doing well. He was surprised how much weight I was gaining. I weighed 7 lbs 9oz. I am gaining about an ounce and a half a day. No longer do Mommy and Daddy have to fortify my milk with extra calories. I drink about 3 oz every feeding. I also got a little taller. I’m 19 inches long now!

Finally it was back home where I promptly went to sleep!

My First Cold

I got my first cold yesterday. Mommy gave it to me because she had it first. My nose has been stuffy. And Mommy and Daddy keep sticking this scary sucky thingy in my nose. Although, after I’m done screaming, I do notice that I can breathe better!

The cold hasn’t affected my eating or sleeping though. When I get hungry, I let Mommy and Daddy know. Usually at night I have to cry extra loud to wake them up to go get my bottle!

Playtime!

I spend more time awake now (though you wouldn’t know it from this picture). I like to look around the room and I look at Mommy and Daddy when they talk to me. I still get tired pretty easily, but so does Daddy. We were playing together yesterday, and we both fell asleep.
