Keep on Walking

I’m trying out this new thing called walking. It’s kind of scary but Mommy and Daddy keep encouraging me and I’m slowly getting the hang of it. It’s still quicker (and easier) for me to crawl place. But Daddy says if I want to be a baseball player I’m going to have to learn to walk! Anyway, here’s a short video my Daddy took of me taking a few steps.

1 Year Check-Up

I went to see Dr. Beaty today. He said I am doing great and I’m right on track. I still need to get a little taller – my height is in the 54th percentile, while my weight is in the 77th and my head (must get it from my mom) is in the 79th. I am 30″ long and I weigh 24lb 14oz. We get to turn my car seat around so I can face forward! Mommy thinks I’ll like that. Of course, I also got some shots that hurt and made me cry. But it’s better now.

I’ve been playing and giggling and having fun with Mommy. I scratched myself, as you can see in the picture, so Mommy is calling me Scarface.

One Year Old!

I did it! I survived my first year. It was quite an adventure. My birthday was on Friday but I had my party yesterday. Mommy and Daddy and Ben and Nicole were there to help me celebrate. Mommy made some yummy cupcakes for us to have. I liked mine! Then I opened some presents. Mommy and Daddy got me a school bus that I can push around and also a hammer that makes noise when I hit Daddy with it!Next week I go see Dr. Beaty for my one year checkup. I’ll fill you in with all the details when I get back. Otherwise I’m trying to be a big boy. I like eating different foods, especially when Daddy gives me a Nilla Wafer! I like playing with my toys too. Cars and trucks are my favorite because I like pushing them around. Sometimes, I think about taking a step, but it’s still easier to get around by crawling! Mostly I like to hang with Daddy. I follow him everywhere I can!

My 1st Christmas

I like Christmas! I’ve had lots of fun and got some pretty cool toys! On Christmas Eve we went to Grandma Mathewson’s. She got me a truck that I can ride on (or at least have Daddy push me around on) or that I can push myself. It makes race car noises when you push buttons. I also got some clothes.

I slept in on Christmas morning which will probably be the last time! Mommy and Daddy let me open up presents from them. I got a set of blocks. I like it when Daddy stacks them up so I can knock them down! I also got a set of cars that I can push around. . . but mostly chew on!We went to Grandpa and Grandma Robertson’s for lunch. Uncle Mike, Aunt Trisha, Bella, Lili, Uncle Evan, Aunt Emily, Isaiah, Great Grandpa and Great Grandma, Aunt Ro, Uncle Mike, Aunt Vicky and Caitlin were all there! It was a full house! After lunch we opened presents. I about got lost in all of the wrapping paper. I got lots of neat clothes, a truck that makes lots of noise, a pelican that I can pull behind me, a giant gumball machine that has plastic balls instead of gumballs, a teddy bear chair, and a stuffed cow that moos when I sit on it! It was a fun day.

Big News

I have a big summer planned already! I’m going to be a ring bearer. . . not once but twice! In May, we are going to Libertyville for Erin and Manny’s wedding. Here’s a picture of us.

And then in July, we get to go out to Montana for Anna and Grant’s wedding. I posed for a picture with them too.Now the pressure is on me to learn to walk! Daddy promised to teach me so hopefully he knows what he is doing!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! We went to my Grandma Mathewson’s for Thanksgiving. Uncle Steve, Aunt Priscilla, Erin, Anna, Ben, Luke, Manny, Grant, Nicole and Nicole’s Mom and Dad were all there. It was fun. I had lots of people to play with. I got to wrestle with Manny. . . he’s a lot bigger than me but I beat him anyway! And there was lots of food to eat. Daddy let me eat some of his sweet potatoes! Yummy!

My 1st Halloween

Happy Halloween! Daddy dressed me up as a St. Louis Cardinal’s baseball player for Halloween. Mommy has to work tonight so Daddy and I are handing out candy. Daddy is also sampling the Halloween candy, but not letting me have any! Oh well, maybe next year I’ll get to go out!
